✨ Shiny Objects + Staying True What’s New at The Mustache Cat
As a small business, staying focused can be tough—especially with all the “shiny objects” that come our way. I used to cringe at that term back in my corporate days, but now I get it. Distractions are real, and it's a challenge to stay true to our brand, mission, and goals.
When I started The Mustache Cat, we (truly, Bernie + me) brainstormed the words that best embodied our business. We landed on three: bold, community, and approachable. We use these values to challenge ourselves when setting plans + strategy for the business.
We’re thrilled to be part of the Vintage Fall Crawl for the third year, celebrating women-owned businesses and giving back to a great cause. It’s one of the ways we stay rooted in what matters—supporting community.
On the product side, we're expanding by giving cool old stuff a new life - we’re especially excited about our billiard ball wine stoppers and vintage button cocktail picks. We’ve also jumped into making our own candles with the guidance of the amazing Wafa - feeling pretty bold in both our new skills and plan for growth with these products.
With big events like the Dayton’s Holiday Market on the horizon, we’re bringing our products across the river (gasp!) and challenging the ways we can continue to make supporting us approachable.
These words help us ensure our strategies to grow the business align with who we want to be and make sure we only focus on the best of the best “shiny objects.”
Here’s to the finding the right shiny objects and lots of learning ahead - thanks for being on this journey with us!
