Celebrating Women’s History Month - Spotlight Onyx Candles

If you've visited the shop you know all of our modern goods are sourced from women owned businesses and woman makers. To celebrate Women's History Month, each week we will be showcasing one of our fab-u-lous women makers from the shop! The Mustache Cat would not be possible without these amazing humans.

As I was starting to research modern products to add to the shop, I found @onyx.candles. The brand story and products seemed like a great fit (shockingly this was before I knew Onyx was named after her cat), so I asked Wafa to meet for coffee - I am not sure I've ever felt a more genuine and instant connection with another human.

We had an amazing session (some fabulous coffee and lots of laughs) which led to us brainstorming what a partnership could look like beyond just purchasing her candles. We now partner to fill vintage vessels (she brings the candle, I bring the vessel😁) and have created a custom scent exclusive to the shop (it's what we've got burning daily).

So thankful for what has become a true partnership (and friendship) - growing our business together, challenging eachother, and learning/laughing a lot along the way.
