Behind the Scenes 🎬 Making FUNky Widow Displays
There’s nothing quite like a fresh window display to brighten the shop (and our mood) this time of year ☀️
One of things that attracted us to the space originally was the windows 🪟 since we’re on the end of the building, we have windows on 3 sides bringing lots of light in and allowing us to showcase products to folks outside 👀
Things we consider when building a window display :
1. What is inspiring us today? We wanted a 70’s funky + groovy vibe for these windows paired with LIGHT 💡 when it feels dark and grey, we want to infuse this space with bright and of course a little fun. We reused lamp shades we already had and added tassels for a little jazz, and used the box full of disco balls to add some extra brightness and bring the funk 🕺🪩 💃
2. Are there elements we can reuse from previous displays? This display reused lights we had already hanging, light up trees, and lamp shades from last year’s windows ♻️
3. How does it work from different viewpoints? We hope our windows bring you to folks driving by and that they entice visits, and we want them to be equally appealing inside. We hope they inspire our community on how they might incorporate some of these ideas in their own spaces and that they are easily shoppable + approachable. This means choosing products that are multi-dimensional (360 degrees are our favorites), with large + small elements (so they can be appreciated from far away and up close) and of course representative of our space + offerings 💡
Is there anything you love to see in a shop window display? Any inspiration for us for future windows?
