It was an absolutely GRAND OLD DAY ☀️

So much of everything - fun, firsts, learnings, steps, work, and of course love from this amazing Saint Paul community 🙌 Sharing some of our key learnings from this GRAND experience:

🥸 We learned that our estimation skills leave something to be desired and that goofy mustaches you can stick up your nose are for humans of ALL ages. 2600 mustaches handed out before we hit the midway point, means we should definitely think bigger next time. SO many thank you’s to our sweet + fabulous friends @ilikeyou_mn for the assist with these!

👗 Dress rehearsals for parades can be just as fun as the parade itself, especially when you have an audience for your 11 pm test run. Creative and can-do minds are key for float building - museum wax, tape (lots of it), zip ties, string, and hope are also key 🔑

♻️ Cool stuff should live many lives! More than just our motto around the shop, we put this to use all over this float. Banners on the truck were reused from @catfestmn and from our temporary “we’re open” signage from @the_graphix_spot Custom sandwich board from @wheremyyy getting put on official display, showcasing the amazing State Fair competition quilt by Erin, and of course taking the orange couch (and lots of our personal vintage favorites) on the road.

We 🧡 our people - this small business dream would not be possible without our crew and that is so clear during events like this. From scheming this crazy parade idea, to making mustache handouts, to float building, to reading + following my logistics emails, to being the best spokespeople, to cheering from the parade route, to supporting in spirit - thank you, thank you, thank you.

We are SO incredibly grateful to be here growing this community with you all - here’s to lots more firsts, fun and of course learnings along the way 🙌
