More of, Less Of… Small Business Style

Any of my corporate friends out there familiar with the “more of, less of” exercise? I’ve been doing some of that with my small business owner hat on lately and here is my “flip chart” of findings - would LOVE to hear your additions to make this session truly interactive.

Things I think about doing more often:

• Leave google reviews for my favorite small businesses
• Telling friends about my favorite places to go #smallbusinessinfluencer
• Interacting with social media content - likes, comments, save
• Giving feedback when helpful - ex. Sharing ideas (shoutout to a fellow local biz that suggested we do story sales) or info on times when store hours are off online vs. in store
• Paying with cash when I can - it’s shocking how many fees for credit card processing small businesses’ pay

Things I focus on doing less often:

• Feel frustrated about a less than stellar interaction - I’ve talked about this before, but working on giving more grace to folks in retail settings
• Leaving a store without saying something - it’s amazing how much a ‘thank you’ or ‘see you later’ can do for a human at the shop all day
• Buying online or from big box stores when I can support a local business

Anything on your “more of” or “less of” list?
