Exciting + Bittersweet News 🗞🔥
Some exciting + bittersweet news to share today…
We did our last *official* vintage vessel candle pickup with Wafa recently! 🙀
Wafa is moving on from candle making to focus on her next adventure (as if being a pediatric dentist isn’t enough for this amazing human). We had lunch a few weeks ago when she was first working through the plan and she posed the question “would you like to make your own candles?”
It took a beat to wrap our head’s around officially becoming chandlers (the official name for a candle maker), but we knew with her support + teaching skills that we would be in good hands 🙌 to continue to deliver the amazing, 100% soy, refillable candles you have known and loved since we opened 2.5 years ago
We spent time together last week training our crew on how to recreate the magic in traditional and of course vintage vessels. We’ll still have all your favorite scents, including the 3 signature scents we have crafted together and a special scent in honor of Wafa 🖤
Since she isn’t ready to leave candle making entirely, we will continue to host candle making classes with her for the foreseeable future. Our next one is 10/24 (tickets on our website). She’ll continue to share her love for candle making, scents, and creating (and we get to spend some scheduled time with her too 😊).
We are excited (and honored) to add being “chandlers” to our ever growing list of skills and to continue to share the element of scent as a representation of your space 🏠
Partnerships (and friendships) like the one we have with Wafa are what make this business so special. I will be ever grateful of this woman for agreeing to meet me for (a terrible cup of) coffee 6 months before we opened, bonding over businesses named after our cats, and always being open-minded to the crazy ideas I proposed. So thankful to have her in my life - you’ll continue to see her influence around the shop as she’s an avid supporter, confidante, brainstorm buddy and most important, true + lifelong friend 🧡
